Introduction:
Dr
Paula
Berdoukas
has
been
working
as
a
general
ophthalmologist
at
the
practice
since
2007.
She
has
an
interest
in
cataract
and
refractive
surgery,
retinal
laser
and
intra-‐vitreal
therapies.
She
graduated
from
Sydney
University
in
1997
with
First
Class
honours
in
medicine.
She
trained
in
ophthalmology
at
Sydney
Eye
Hospital
and
in
her
final
year
was
appointed
Professorial
Senior
Registrar.
She
was
awarded
the
K
G
Howsam
Medal
by
The
Royal
Australian
and
New
Zealand
College
of
Ophthalmologists
(RANZCO) for
excellence
in
the
final
fellowship
examination in
2003.
Previously,
she
has
worked
in
the
United
Kingdom
as
a
medical
retina
fellow,
and
at
The
Sydney
Eye
Hospital
and
Royal
Prince
Alfred
Hospital
as
a
Consultant
ophthalmologist.
She attained
a
Graduate
Diploma
in
Medicine
(Refractive
Surgery)
from
Sydney
University
in
2010.
She
is
currently
an
Anatomy
Examiner
for
RANZCO.

Respected Dr Paula, please note that my mother is facing cataract issue in both eyes. She is around 75 years old and has multiple health issues like blood pressure, arthritis and cardiac issues as wel. Would you suggest that she under go a cataract surgery?
